Pause...
Stop feeling guilty,
Makes me unhappy,
Stop feeling sad,
Makes me feel bad.
-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

No Regrets

Since the day we met,
Never a day goes by
Without me thinking of you,
Dusk till dawn, sunrise to sunset,
You're beautiful in everyway, that is true.

Though I want this to be something more,
I am bound to turn out disappointed,
Unless you can prove me wrong,
Then there won't be a sad song,
And not turn out broken-hearted.

I honour your decisions,
Your goals and determinations,
Decipher your problems,
Let them not be burdens,
Like heavy gold emblems.

You are a wonder, marvel instilled,
From the day you were born,
Lest we forget, something unfulfilled,
The fond agreement,
Our challenge at morn...

Great time...

Inspiration...

A Question...
Walking round, side-by-side,
Warmth radiating in the soul,
What I feel within, inside,
Only felt when you're around.

Mesmerizing, breathless,
Looking into your eyes, holding ur stare,
Makes me spellbound, speechless,
Makes me long that you're always there.

Let it be heard from coast to coast,
Bubbly personality, wonderful smile,
You are what matters to me most,
You can be put that on record, on file.

Butterfly on the top of ur shoes,
Santarina girl, captivating presence,
Gifts in poetry, poetry in life,
My life, you are of the very essence.

You make this world so grand,
This ain't no lie, not a mask,
Time is but a grain of sand,
Would it be wise for me to ask,
Can I hold your hand?

-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

A-musing
Dilemma of where to eat,
Roam every direction,
This is no mean feat,
Noodles it is, a decision!

Coming soon...

A new post will be coming up soon...

*cue elevator music...*

Something to ponder about for the moment:

Foolish
Never am subtle,
I say what I mean,
Jump to conclusions,
Foolish I am,

Stoked the fire,
Of the humble resting being,
Feeling the burning sensation,
Etching deeper into the heart,

Dipped a toe into the ocean,
Tripped over my actions,
Heading head-first into oblivion,
Subtlety is not my speciality,

Laid it out plain and simple,
Aches abound, cure not found,
Dust blinds the eyes,
Smog smothers the lungs,

Highly unlikely will this succeed,
Seeds of resentment already planted,
Heart pounds quicker, senses tingle,
Is this what they call the inexplicable?

Never am subtle,
I say what I mean,
Jump to conclusions,
That I had any chance,
Foolish I am to think.

Spontaneous observations...

As promised in my previous post, here is a brand spanking new blog post!
A few days ago a fren of mine, PoOkpOok, was in an angsty mood. Thus i got this analogy that life is kinda like the workings of a computer... Some of the analogies that will parallel to everyday happenings in life are:

- There are some bugs that cannot be fixed (Unsolvable problems, mysteries in our lives)
- Hackers and virus writers (Darn nasty ppl who are out to have cheap thrills while making others miserable)
- Download updates to improve the system (Education, Knowledge)
- Every program we install will change the system somehow, will make some changes to the directory deep within (Experience, impact of events and individuals)
- No matter how we try to uninstall, these changes to the system cannot be reverted to how it was before (We nvr forget, forever etched in the mind)
- Wallpaper is just cosmetic (Whatever on the inside is the one that counts)
- Overheat and chips will fry (Drink more water!)

A rather amusing revelation was:

Angstober fest,
Drink your angst away,
Drown it inside your beer-filled chest,
Another hangover the next day...

-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

To all having exams, Good Luck, and to all having hols, Have fun!

Might I miss...?
Might not be as generous,
Might not even seem serious;
Ache in the chest reminds me,
That I miss you...

Might not be that good-looking,
Might not know what's cooking;
Heavy heart reminds me,
That I miss you...

Might not be that careful,
Might not always be helpful;
Restless nights remind me,
That I miss you...

Might not be that diligent,
Might not at times be intelligent;
One thing I know for sure is,
That I miss you...

New blog post in the near future...

*Watch this space for a new update in 2 week's time, thanks for your patience...*

"Bad Day

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
(Oh.. Holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day"

Move to the groove...

Cultural Beat (a Cultural Night event organized by the International Student Council of my college) has come and passed.
This 'lil vignette should sum it up :)

Cultural Beat,
Though rain and sleet,
We could still feel the heat;
It made us move our feet,
For it was a treat,
That was mighty sweet.

Meaningful lyrics...

"You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true."
-James Blunt

"
Far Away

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there’s just one left
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

On my knees, I’ll ask
Last chance for one last dance
‘Cause with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything but I won’t give up
‘Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
‘Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
‘Cause I’m not leaving
Hold on to me and
never let me go"

Meet the Fans!

Why hello there, it's been a long while as usual since my last post... was meaning to post this yesterday, but didn't get round to it :p

Although it is not my policy to post articles related directly to the goings-on in my life stuff kinda stuff (meaning converting an intellectual blog into a daily dairy bore-fest), but got some exclusive photos to share with you all from a Meet the Fans closed door invite-only session on Monday, 12th Sept, with The Myth director Stanley Tong, as well as actors Mallika Sherawat and Jackie Chan!!! ^_^
Without further ado, enjoy...

Before the arrival of the Guests of Honour
Layout of the room at the Carlton Conference Centre, in the Golden Triangle area of KL, where the session was held.

Stanley Tong, Mallika Sherawat and Jackie Chan!
Took this pic without flash, hence the darkened look :-/
That's the problem with places with warm lighting backgrounds...

Jackie Chan and gang with emcees
Answering Q's posed by the emcees from Mix FM, left, and MY FM, right.

Caught in the act!
Hahaha... Jackie caught making a funny face while talking to Mallika :p

Listening intently!
One of the sharper pics taken, can clearly see the fatigue on Jackie's face... All 3 of them just arrived from S'pore! Busy busy being a celebrity...

Pose for the cameras
All 3 posing for fans to take pics right before the group photo-taking session, Stanley looking fatigued too...

Smile!
Jackie Chan and gang with winners of GSC contest. I'm on the right with Jackie Chan's hand on my shoulder! (haha, OK, big deal or small matter, whatever makes you happy :p) While my 'movie buff' friend, Mike 'The Guru' Lawrence is on the left.
Dunno who is the white-haired aunty and white-shirted dude... but winners all the same!

This time no "poetic ammos"... the above pics are just some of the ones taken, didn't post all up (most of the rest are out of focus :-/) You can even check out page 3 of The Star today for an article and pic taken at the press conference done after the Meet the Fans session. Thanks for taking the time to check my blog out today, signing off with a quote:

How Bizarre...

Life is weird... some people whoz never talked to you before suddenly start warming up and approach, all due to desperation when a deadline is just round the horizon... Typical survival instincts coming into play... How Bizarre...

Feeling bored, so decided to take a break and write something to update this 'ere blog of mine :p
After that series of unfortunate events, hope the storm has subsided and life goes on...
Ah... nice cool breeze after the cleansing rain... "Angin bertiup sepoi-sepoi", once said by a friend of mine... haha ^_^ How Bizarre...

Audioslave, Aqualung, Coldplay, ..., Staind, Switchfoot, Zakk Wylde... hmmm...

Life gives us a break from the hectic hustle and bustle by sprinkling us with moments of blur sotong-ness... Don't be afraid to own up to being blur, cause it can be one of the most satisfying things you will ever do... Revealing a side less than perfect is a show of strong-will and strength... Unbelievable? Believe It, for that is Not Bizarre...

Hmmm... this following comic reminds me of many friends of mine who delight in waking up unnaturally late (a.k.a sleeping in!)... ;p

Familiar situation, ain't it... hehehe....

Going on a comics blitz, sharing with some of the comics that i found funny :)
Enjoy...

*Note: For those who did not catch the other comics that were on here, sorry for the inconvenience as those comics have been taken down by the sites that hosted them (most probably because of cleaning out the servers for newer ones). Will in the near future go on a comics blitz again, thanks for sticking round ^_^

Staying up late screws up my rationale...

Alright, I'm not used to this, but as time goes by, people has gotta change with it... View my creative creations, from my previous post, from now on as creative pieces and not real-time reflections of my life, I fully understand that I have the tendency to shoot myself in the foot...

Don't know why, but it seems that is how it is... An "average joe" like me gets an opportunity of a lifetime, but makes major mistakes everytime... Call it retribution, call it "what goes around, comes around", call it whatever-you-so-d*mn-please... I have made the biggest mistake ever, rush things and it will just not materialize... Serves me right, I got served, because there is no paradise Island.
Hope you would forgive me... Thank you very much for your time, hope you liked the poems, pls kindly view them from now on as creative pieces and not real-time reflections of my life...

Shot myself in the foot again...

Well as usual it's been a while since my last post... life has been treating me good, and i hope it is to you too... Current circumstances for events known has been causing illogical thinking in my logical mind... OK, buncha mumbo jumbo nonsense jus spewed rite there... Enjoy this creation of mine, current situations going unsolved:

You...
You lighten up my life, show me the way,
True to yourself, smile shines through;
It will be missed, especially of late,
Incomprehensible, confusion,
Is this what they call the inexplicable?

Past days evoke days of loneliness,
Few though it might seem for now,
Fear it is just the beginning,
Constant chatter reduced to coldness,
Hazy days cloud the mind, excuses?

Hope is a wonderful thing, taken?
A negative response, there's a light;
Shadowed sun, encased in darkness,
Doubt builds, Don't know what to think,
Is it worth it? Playing a solo routine...

Old habits die hard, mystery shrouds,
Look into the eyes, windows to the world,
Taking the leap too early, over eager?
Unique Beauty, Eternal Summer, Buddy,
Gifts to the world, but whose will it be?

Some say, experience makes one wiser,
But when life locks you down, the ride begins,
Spiral up, spin down, tumble left, roll right,
See the light, but analytical mind says no,
I care for the one and only you...

-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

Bleak it might seem, let me end this on a happy note, with a cute little comic:

Typhoons, Haze, Sun, Rain... Calm before the storm...

Seeing you everytime, puts a smile on my face...

Assurance, of more than friends is wanted...

Your smile infectuous, beauty peerless...

Too early, too late, made a mistake...

Elegance of mind, body and soul...

Haze, Daze, this life is a Maze...
-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

Oh, crap... there I go, shooting myself in the foot again :-/

There is no other...

Wow... it's been a long while since my last post... a lil over 1 month!
Without further ado...

Perfection...
"Nothing is perfect" as the classic saying goes,
Through the recent turn of events,
Compromises must be made;
Once you've found someone who is close to perfection,
There is no other.

Sun rises, sun sets,
Seasons come and go,
But "Don't Panic!"
"Why do we fall?
So we can pick ourselves up...
"
There is no other.

Another day goes, another day arrives,
Drawing the future closer;
What do you make of it?
What is this feeling?
Who will be there?
There is no other.

Anticipate the future,
Learn from the past,
Live in the present,
Ever vigilant,
"What man is a man
who does not make the world better?
"
There is no other.

Chances blown, opportunites lost,
Friendship, the ties that bind,
Will it stay eternal?
For "one man's meat is another man's poison"
Live life on the edge;
There is no other.

When perfection rejects,
Never give up!
For stormy weathers pass,
Revealing a bright sunny future,
There is no other.

-Kwan Wen Ching, 2005

Appreciate what you have right now, do not neglect... There is always a margin for error and room for improvements... What is on the inside that counts, think positive and always smile.
"Smile and the world smiles with you"

P.S. Make-overs are just a matter of aesthetics, inner values do not change.
Thus make-overs do not prove anything, just like prime-time television:

Want some laughs? check this site out -->
(Thanks for the link, The Guru)

To Unique Beauty,
I've found perfection, I can only wish that perfection shares the same feelings, for "sharing is caring"

Above and beyond...

Been a while since I last posted on here... a 'lil over 10 days! Prepping for end-of-sem finals, so I'll leave you all with a little vignette (a far cry from my previous post :p) to ponder over, either your school holidays, weekend, study break, or just food for thought ^_^

Law... what should be defined as law?... who decides what law is?... By dictionary definition, law is:
law
(lô)
n.

  1. A rule of conduct or procedure established by custom, agreement, or authority.
    1. The body of rules and principles governing the affairs of a community and enforced by a political authority; a legal system
    2. The condition of social order and justice created by adherence to such a system
  2. A set of rules or principles dealing with a specific area of a legal system
  3. A piece of enacted legislation.
    1. The system of judicial administration giving effect to the laws of a community
    2. Legal action or proceedings; litigation
    3. An impromptu or extralegal system of justice substituted for established judicial procedure
    1. An agency or agent responsible for enforcing the law. Often used with the
    2. Informal. A police officer. Often used with the.
    1. The science and study of law; jurisprudence.
    2. Knowledge of law.
    3. The profession of an attorney.
  4. Something, such as an order or a dictum, having absolute or unquestioned authority
  5. Law
    1. The body of principles or precepts held to express the divine will, especially as revealed in the Bible.
    2. The first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures.
  6. A code of principles based on morality, conscience, or nature.
    1. A rule or custom generally established in a particular domain
    2. A way of life
    1. A statement describing a relationship observed to be invariable between or among phenomena for all cases in which the specified conditions are met
    2. A generalization based on consistent experience or results
  7. Mathematics. A general principle or rule that is assumed or that has been proven to hold between expressions.
  8. A principle of organization, procedure, or technique
A famous saying goes, "Rules are meant to be broken," which points otherwise...
Should we follow the law? or should we use our own instincts?...
Should we put the law into our own hands?
Should we be judge, jury and executioner all at the same time?
Should we uphold the law at the expense of others? or
Should we be lawless and cause death, destruction, disease, dread, darkness, devoid of life...

So what will it be?...
Decisions these are... ever present, never ending...

Delicate... but must be voiced out!

Thanks for all the comments regarding this blog ^_^ (hope some constructive ones can be posted here to share with all :)
The post this time is a more delicate, close to taboo-ish topic (although it has been a main topic for R&B and rap songs)... Here it is, enjoy!

Player... In your mind, what does that word mean? One who participates in a game or sport... a gambler... one who performs in theatrical roles... one who plays a musical instrument... all those seem fitting for the description of player that I'm about to highlight, which is one that fools around and hurts the hearts and feelings of ladies (for men) and vice versa...
In the aftermath of recent events, I've come to grow sick and tired of seeing one too many ladies having their hearts broken by those irresponsible monsters... Men are not spared as well, as the player trait transcends to the female gender as well... Players equate to monsters, as they seem to resemble a human on the outside, but within every ounce of humane emotion has left them...
As "All men are created equal" - Thomas Jefferson (1776), somewhere along the life of players deep emotional scars were made and bore deep into their intellect and emotions... Deep down, players are "selfish, scared, pathetic, can't see past themselves" -The Guru. Under the cover of smooth-talking and ego trips, players hide their insecurities by passing themselves off as superior, boasting, telling blatant lies and covered in fancy clothes and shoes... Behind it all, they will do whatever it takes to maintain that life, as the fear of being exposed as a phoney is too much to bear... An actual real-life case will be highlighted, the person will be referred to as The Tard (named it as such for it pays homage to the words bastard and retard), it is to protect the identity of the person and also to not stoop to the level of The Tard...
This is not to defame but as a means to give fair warning to others that such monsters do exist and these type of individuals are what taints the name of good samaritans everywhere... *On one sunny spring morning... (birds twittering, sun is shining bright... "Cut! Cut! This is supposed to be a serious matter"..."Sorry, played the wrong intro track"*
The Tard had posed himself to be a good samaritan, helping out around college, club events, giving tuition classes, and also spilling the beans on The Tard's flatmate to his parents, claiming that the flatmate is a total slacker and irresponsible... But little does The Tard know, that description fits The Tard's own personality...
*Stay tuned!... more after this infomercial...*
More on why players are well... players! "Deep seeded fears stemming from past hurts/betrayals leading to complex pathological defence mechanisms developed to distance oneself from true emotional connections" -The Guru... Emotional scars run deep, be it from family problems, can't get over being dumped, backstabbed, etc... However players enter a vicious cycle, as they impose onto others the hurt that they used feel before becoming monsters that they are... Players have a personal agenda to create problems in perfectly harmonious families, be the dumper instead of the dumpee (wait, is there such a word *word searches...* I meant dumped :p), and backstabs others in as vicious ways or even more so... These emotional scars then are "Manifested as expressions of sexual inadequecies, emotional distancing and so on" -The Guru... From the scarring, and right before forcing others, players see themselves as lacking, hence choosing the easiest way to release frustration is by sex as well as toying with others' emotions... Quoted from a self-confessed female player, "They (guys) would feel OK afterwards" -on making out with guys at clubs as well as changing boyfriends like they were changing face towels!
*Now it's time to get back to the misadventures of The Tard!...*
Soon after, The Tard moved out and moved in with decent, responsible individuals... That is when The Tard's player ways rear it's ugly head (albeit on a skinny *close to boney*, pale and small frame)... After several long months of bad debts (non-payment of rent, phone, electricity, internet bills) meanwhile spending money loaned from friends and spending on The Tard's self and the unsuspecting girl, The Tard was given fair notice (close to 5 weeks before) to shift right out... The Tard had become a financial burden on the other housemates as they keep covering his share of the rental and so on... All the while, to gain support from others, The Tard made a sympathy plea by posing as 'having leukaemia' (a little trick The Tard learnt from watching the movie, A Walk to Remember)... With this, The Tard got the sympathy he wanted as tutors and students alike were blinded, falling for the lie and forgiving him for all his wrongs... That is when he got careless!...
The Tard pushed the tolerance level of the tutors to bursting point, skipping one too many classes (something along the lines of 6 or 7 classes)... Besides that, The Tard made the all too typical player move, dumping the girl after having had sexual relations with her (took her virginity and The Tard said that he was sick of her and the relationship was over 1 week thereafter)...
With recent reports, The Tard has gotten himself barred from 3 exams, being on the wanted list as well as blacklisted by the telephone company, as well as being searched high and low by The Tard's own parents! (The Tard forged the college's official letterhead demanding special fees from The Tard's parents, while such fees were unknown even to the college!)
The Tard is the perfect example of a player (although not as smooth as 'professionals' who prowl the night scene for unsuspecting victims), where the reputation of true do-gooders are sploit by low-lifes like The Tard!
As I want to stress again, this is not to defame anyone nor is this slander, I intend this to open the eyes of everyone out there, that there is such threat to society and the very values that it is built on... Females are not the only victims of players as males get their fair share of it as well... It is not a matter restricted to gender, though in terms of publicity, male players are more frequently depicted in mass media...
I am also not deviating from the message of my first blog post, as more careful evaluation of individuals are needed to stop this never-ending chain of events... Like the definition of player: Players think what they do is a game or sport, they are like a gambler taking risks for their personal enjoyment, all the while giving acting like thespians or Broadway stars in theatrical roles and playing with other people's emotions like it were a musical instrument... Players give love a bad name...

To end this post, I would like to share some rather hilarious spoofs of famous Hollywood movies, acted by none other than WWE Superstars: Wrestlemania 21 Movie Trailer Videos (viewed by online streaming)... A familiar name is mentioned in one of the videos that hints at a person mentioned above... Tickle your funny bone and enjoy your day!

Battle Of The Heroes

Since the previous blog post was first posted on Friendster, lemme officiate my blogspot with this rambling...
Good versus Evil... Hero v Villain... Friend v Foe... Protagonist v Antagonist... Fresh v Rotten...? (For those who are Law degree students or are familiar with court proceedings, I am not talking about court cases, plaintiff v defendant :p) hehehe *Rewind....*
The constant struggle between the good and bad is much like "yin" and "yang", both trying to find the middle ground, equilibrium... This is not the same as "Survival of the Fittest", as like in the history of gladiators or Wild West gun duels at high noon... *thematic wistling followed with a tumbleweed rolling by...* the latter is just "Every man for themselves" while the former is with a intention for the betterment of the general populace... Good v Evil is what some people call the 'good fight', it gives individuals a sense of purpose, much like in every movie there is a villain to warrant the presense of a hero...
Be it a rival sniper in Enemy at the Gates, a power hungry angel in Constantine, war-mongering crusader in Kingdom of Heaven or even the all-round baddie, the tabacco companies of The Insider (the latter is one that the world can relate to as the number one killer... silent, smelly and uncool lil sticks of death!)
Villains are what compltes the hero (whether we love to hate them or not) cause without trouble there is no solution, no poison there is no antidote, no ghosts there is no need to call the Ghostbusters, you get the idea...
As everyone tries to find the perfect balance in life, one must understand that it is a never-ending endeavour and there are no short cuts... one much also know that the way to find the balance and peace of mind is not collecting an overabundance of wealth... as the saying goes, "Money does not buy you love...", so think about it the finer things in life... (one way is to sit in a car with it's air-conditioning broke, under the scorching hot sun of a sunny afternoon) Be generous and feel the warmth of having helped someone less better off (Glazer, gets your hands off Manchester United, they are better off without your meddlings)

This whole thing about Good v Evil is an allusion to the tug-of-war between the Jedi v Sith... Since this coming 19th of May that Episode III of the Star Wars saga is being released worldwide, I am tributing this post to the Star Wars universe made by the great writer/director/innovator/inspirator/creator George Lucas... No one else crafted such an engaging tale of Good v Evil than Mr. Lucas (the only person who has come close is J.R.R. Tolkien of Lord of the Rings-fame)
The Force, something measurable yet not... The Force is to the Jedi & Sith, what a sense of drive is to us, a purpose, desire, ambition... Finding the balance to the Force is the same as finding the equilibrium in life...
"Male is the positive, while female is the negative" -Ms. Thama, LAN subject tutor (not Local Area Network, mind you), on the definition of "yin" and "yang"... In your quest to complete your life, find the balance, your other half of the sphere of life, your significant other, your soulmate is the final piece of brick that seals the purpose of living... Have you found that other half?

My ramblings will be at times incoherent, random, and full of movie references... but I try to reach out to anyone who would spare me some time. Thanx for your time and would appreciate your 2 cents of comments. *Braces for criticisms & compliments, if any*

This is not a survey... trust me...

For at least a moment there, you did not believe that I was telling the truth... In this world of havoc, trust is not seen as a viable option to the common populace anymore... This fact is disheartening for the connection between humans are growing more and more hostile... Backstabbing, slander, weaseling, the list goes on... Nice guys are slowly diminishing from the face of this "dog-eat-dog" world... The dying breed... Lesson learnt from recent times that resonates through history... Being nice doesn't pay...
But with all those evil demons within human skin lurking around the streets, disguised like a "wolf in sheep skin", there's no doubt that belief and trust are no longer present when individuals meet for the first time... Heinous crimes are ever present in today's papers, old skool or online... Being nice doesn't pay...
Bloodsucking criminals roam the town without restraint while the freedom of mankind are being strangled with the ever clichéd phrase, "We are doing it for your own good"... Every person is unique, one-of-a-kind, special, in every sense of the word, no one knows what's best for them more than themselves... Being nice doesn't pay...
Take everything in your own stride... Compete with the natural determination in all of us... But do stop once in a while for a cup of water, a "coffee break", a cup of tea or even a teh-O ais limau... Evaluate your life during those precious minutes for yourself... Ask yourself, "What have I done that will brighten up another person's life or the preservation of nature's beings?", be it contributing to the nearby convenience store or kedai runcit by buying the day's old skool style papers or feeding the neighbourhood stray... Such evaluations are getting as rare as the honest human... Being nice doesn't pay...
Thus, isn't it time to give others a chance?... Because life doesn't always pitch a fastball, bowl an in-swinger, kick a torpedo, or even hand the champion's trophy to you on a silver platter... Because as the wise words of Forrest Gump, "As my momma used to say, 'Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get'"... And even the Black Eyed Peas sang, "Where is the love?"...
By now you would've noticed a pattern... But break the monotony and give a good look into the good intentions of others and identify the good from the bad, the nice from the nasty... No one is perfect, even machines make mistakes... Though some would disagree with me...
Be open-minded and not lose sight of the fact every person has a purpose... Be kind and notice the change for the better... Be friendly and spread the warmth of having a true friend... Be patient and feel the cool of dousing that inner rage... Be honest and realise how everything clicks together... Be nice and realise it does actually pay, for what you achieve from helping others will being inner peace that's satisfying and euphoric... And that is something that no one can ever take away from you... Give every nice person at least a smile for that is good enough to make his or her day... "May the Force be with you" -Star Wars
