Above and beyond...

Been a while since I last posted on here... a 'lil over 10 days! Prepping for end-of-sem finals, so I'll leave you all with a little vignette (a far cry from my previous post :p) to ponder over, either your school holidays, weekend, study break, or just food for thought ^_^

Law... what should be defined as law?... who decides what law is?... By dictionary definition, law is:
law
(lô)
n.

  1. A rule of conduct or procedure established by custom, agreement, or authority.
    1. The body of rules and principles governing the affairs of a community and enforced by a political authority; a legal system

    3. The profession of an attorney.
  4. Something, such as an order or a dictum, having absolute or unquestioned authority
  5. Law
    1. The body of principles or precepts held to express the divine will, especially as revealed in the Bible.
    2. The first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures.
  6. A code of principles based on morality, conscience, or nature.
    1. A rule or custom generally established in a particular domain
    2. A way of life
    1. A statement describing a relationship observed to be invariable between or among phenomena for all cases in which the specified conditions are met
    2. A generalization based on consistent experience or results
  7. Mathematics. A general principle or rule that is assumed or that has been proven to hold between expressions.
  8. A principle of organization, procedure, or technique
A famous saying goes, "Rules are meant to be broken," which points otherwise...
Should we follow the law? or should we use our own instincts?...
Should we put the law into our own hands?
Should we be judge, jury and executioner all at the same time?
Should we uphold the law at the expense of others? or
Should we be lawless and cause death, destruction, disease, dread, darkness, devoid of life...

So what will it be?...
Decisions these are... ever present, never ending...

Delicate... but must be voiced out!

Thanks for all the comments regarding this blog ^_^ (hope some constructive ones can be posted here to share with all :)
The post this time is a more delicate, close to taboo-ish topic (although it has been a main topic for R&B and rap songs)... Here it is, enjoy!

Player... In your mind, what does that word mean? One who participates in a game or sport... a gambler... one who performs in theatrical roles... one who plays a musical instrument... all those seem fitting for the description of player that I'm about to highlight, which is one that fools around and hurts the hearts and feelings of ladies (for men) and vice versa...
In the aftermath of recent events, I've come to grow sick and tired of seeing one too many ladies having their hearts broken by those irresponsible monsters... Men are not spared as well, as the player trait transcends to the female gender as well... Players equate to monsters, as they seem to resemble a human on the outside, but within every ounce of humane emotion has left them...
As "All men are created equal" - Thomas Jefferson (1776), somewhere along the life of players deep emotional scars were made and bore deep into their intellect and emotions... Deep down, players are "selfish, scared, pathetic, can't see past themselves" -The Guru. Under the cover of smooth-talking and ego trips, players hide their insecurities by passing themselves off as superior, boasting, telling blatant lies and covered in fancy clothes and shoes... Behind it all, they will do whatever it takes to maintain that life, as the fear of being exposed as a phoney is too much to bear... An actual real-life case will be highlighted, the person will be referred to as The Tard (named it as such for it pays homage to the words bastard and retard), it is to protect the identity of the person and also to not stoop to the level of The Tard...
This is not to defame but as a means to give fair warning to others that such monsters do exist and these type of individuals are what taints the name of good samaritans everywhere... *On one sunny spring morning... (birds twittering, sun is shining bright... "Cut! Cut! This is supposed to be a serious matter"..."Sorry, played the wrong intro track"*
The Tard had posed himself to be a good samaritan, helping out around college, club events, giving tuition classes, and also spilling the beans on The Tard's flatmate to his parents, claiming that the flatmate is a total slacker and irresponsible... But little does The Tard know, that description fits The Tard's own personality...
*Stay tuned!... more after this infomercial...*
More on why players are well... players! "Deep seeded fears stemming from past hurts/betrayals leading to complex pathological defence mechanisms developed to distance oneself from true emotional connections" -The Guru... Emotional scars run deep, be it from family problems, can't get over being dumped, backstabbed, etc... However players enter a vicious cycle, as they impose onto others the hurt that they used feel before becoming monsters that they are... Players have a personal agenda to create problems in perfectly harmonious families, be the dumper instead of the dumpee (wait, is there such a word *word searches...* I meant dumped :p), and backstabs others in as vicious ways or even more so... These emotional scars then are "Manifested as expressions of sexual inadequecies, emotional distancing and so on" -The Guru... From the scarring, and right before forcing others, players see themselves as lacking, hence choosing the easiest way to release frustration is by sex as well as toying with others' emotions... Quoted from a self-confessed female player, "They (guys) would feel OK afterwards" -on making out with guys at clubs as well as changing boyfriends like they were changing face towels!
*Now it's time to get back to the misadventures of The Tard!...*
Soon after, The Tard moved out and moved in with decent, responsible individuals... That is when The Tard's player ways rear it's ugly head (albeit on a skinny *close to boney*, pale and small frame)... After several long months of bad debts (non-payment of rent, phone, electricity, internet bills) meanwhile spending money loaned from friends and spending on The Tard's self and the unsuspecting girl, The Tard was given fair notice (close to 5 weeks before) to shift right out... The Tard had become a financial burden on the other housemates as they keep covering his share of the rental and so on... All the while, to gain support from others, The Tard made a sympathy plea by posing as 'having leukaemia' (a little trick The Tard learnt from watching the movie, A Walk to Remember)... With this, The Tard got the sympathy he wanted as tutors and students alike were blinded, falling for the lie and forgiving him for all his wrongs... That is when he got careless!...
The Tard pushed the tolerance level of the tutors to bursting point, skipping one too many classes (something along the lines of 6 or 7 classes)... Besides that, The Tard made the all too typical player move, dumping the girl after having had sexual relations with her (took her virginity and The Tard said that he was sick of her and the relationship was over 1 week thereafter)...
With recent reports, The Tard has gotten himself barred from 3 exams, being on the wanted list as well as blacklisted by the telephone company, as well as being searched high and low by The Tard's own parents! (The Tard forged the college's official letterhead demanding special fees from The Tard's parents, while such fees were unknown even to the college!)
The Tard is the perfect example of a player (although not as smooth as 'professionals' who prowl the night scene for unsuspecting victims), where the reputation of true do-gooders are sploit by low-lifes like The Tard!
As I want to stress again, this is not to defame anyone nor is this slander, I intend this to open the eyes of everyone out there, that there is such threat to society and the very values that it is built on... Females are not the only victims of players as males get their fair share of it as well... It is not a matter restricted to gender, though in terms of publicity, male players are more frequently depicted in mass media...
I am also not deviating from the message of my first blog post, as more careful evaluation of individuals are needed to stop this never-ending chain of events... Like the definition of player: Players think what they do is a game or sport, they are like a gambler taking risks for their personal enjoyment, all the while giving acting like thespians or Broadway stars in theatrical roles and playing with other people's emotions like it were a musical instrument... Players give love a bad name...

To end this post, I would like to share some rather hilarious spoofs of famous Hollywood movies, acted by none other than WWE Superstars: Wrestlemania 21 Movie Trailer Videos (viewed by online streaming)... A familiar name is mentioned in one of the videos that hints at a person mentioned above... Tickle your funny bone and enjoy your day!

Battle Of The Heroes

Since the previous blog post was first posted on Friendster, lemme officiate my blogspot with this rambling...
Good versus Evil... Hero v Villain... Friend v Foe... Protagonist v Antagonist... Fresh v Rotten...? (For those who are Law degree students or are familiar with court proceedings, I am not talking about court cases, plaintiff v defendant :p) hehehe *Rewind....*
The constant struggle between the good and bad is much like "yin" and "yang", both trying to find the middle ground, equilibrium... This is not the same as "Survival of the Fittest", as like in the history of gladiators or Wild West gun duels at high noon... *thematic wistling followed with a tumbleweed rolling by...* the latter is just "Every man for themselves" while the former is with a intention for the betterment of the general populace... Good v Evil is what some people call the 'good fight', it gives individuals a sense of purpose, much like in every movie there is a villain to warrant the presense of a hero...
Be it a rival sniper in Enemy at the Gates, a power hungry angel in Constantine, war-mongering crusader in Kingdom of Heaven or even the all-round baddie, the tabacco companies of The Insider (the latter is one that the world can relate to as the number one killer... silent, smelly and uncool lil sticks of death!)
Villains are what compltes the hero (whether we love to hate them or not) cause without trouble there is no solution, no poison there is no antidote, no ghosts there is no need to call the Ghostbusters, you get the idea...
As everyone tries to find the perfect balance in life, one must understand that it is a never-ending endeavour and there are no short cuts... one much also know that the way to find the balance and peace of mind is not collecting an overabundance of wealth... as the saying goes, "Money does not buy you love...", so think about it the finer things in life... (one way is to sit in a car with it's air-conditioning broke, under the scorching hot sun of a sunny afternoon) Be generous and feel the warmth of having helped someone less better off (Glazer, gets your hands off Manchester United, they are better off without your meddlings)

This whole thing about Good v Evil is an allusion to the tug-of-war between the Jedi v Sith... Since this coming 19th of May that Episode III of the Star Wars saga is being released worldwide, I am tributing this post to the Star Wars universe made by the great writer/director/innovator/inspirator/creator George Lucas... No one else crafted such an engaging tale of Good v Evil than Mr. Lucas (the only person who has come close is J.R.R. Tolkien of Lord of the Rings-fame)
The Force, something measurable yet not... The Force is to the Jedi & Sith, what a sense of drive is to us, a purpose, desire, ambition... Finding the balance to the Force is the same as finding the equilibrium in life...
"Male is the positive, while female is the negative" -Ms. Thama, LAN subject tutor (not Local Area Network, mind you), on the definition of "yin" and "yang"... In your quest to complete your life, find the balance, your other half of the sphere of life, your significant other, your soulmate is the final piece of brick that seals the purpose of living... Have you found that other half?

My ramblings will be at times incoherent, random, and full of movie references... but I try to reach out to anyone who would spare me some time. Thanx for your time and would appreciate your 2 cents of comments. *Braces for criticisms & compliments, if any*

This is not a survey... trust me...

For at least a moment there, you did not believe that I was telling the truth... In this world of havoc, trust is not seen as a viable option to the common populace anymore... This fact is disheartening for the connection between humans are growing more and more hostile... Backstabbing, slander, weaseling, the list goes on... Nice guys are slowly diminishing from the face of this "dog-eat-dog" world... The dying breed... Lesson learnt from recent times that resonates through history... Being nice doesn't pay...
But with all those evil demons within human skin lurking around the streets, disguised like a "wolf in sheep skin", there's no doubt that belief and trust are no longer present when individuals meet for the first time... Heinous crimes are ever present in today's papers, old skool or online... Being nice doesn't pay...
Bloodsucking criminals roam the town without restraint while the freedom of mankind are being strangled with the ever clichéd phrase, "We are doing it for your own good"... Every person is unique, one-of-a-kind, special, in every sense of the word, no one knows what's best for them more than themselves... Being nice doesn't pay...
Take everything in your own stride... Compete with the natural determination in all of us... But do stop once in a while for a cup of water, a "coffee break", a cup of tea or even a teh-O ais limau... Evaluate your life during those precious minutes for yourself... Ask yourself, "What have I done that will brighten up another person's life or the preservation of nature's beings?", be it contributing to the nearby convenience store or kedai runcit by buying the day's old skool style papers or feeding the neighbourhood stray... Such evaluations are getting as rare as the honest human... Being nice doesn't pay...
Thus, isn't it time to give others a chance?... Because life doesn't always pitch a fastball, bowl an in-swinger, kick a torpedo, or even hand the champion's trophy to you on a silver platter... Because as the wise words of Forrest Gump, "As my momma used to say, 'Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get'"... And even the Black Eyed Peas sang, "Where is the love?"...
By now you would've noticed a pattern... But break the monotony and give a good look into the good intentions of others and identify the good from the bad, the nice from the nasty... No one is perfect, even machines make mistakes... Though some would disagree with me...
Be open-minded and not lose sight of the fact every person has a purpose... Be kind and notice the change for the better... Be friendly and spread the warmth of having a true friend... Be patient and feel the cool of dousing that inner rage... Be honest and realise how everything clicks together... Be nice and realise it does actually pay, for what you achieve from helping others will being inner peace that's satisfying and euphoric... And that is something that no one can ever take away from you... Give every nice person at least a smile for that is good enough to make his or her day... "May the Force be with you" -Star Wars
